Strengthening Farmer Relations: Cefetra Grain Appoints New Grain Buyers

26th February 2024

Cefetra Grain, a leading player in the agricultural market, has welcomed two new members to its grain buying team, aimed at expanding its market presence in the North East and the East Midlands regions.

Jenny Oglesby, a seasoned farm trader with experience at the Wynnstay Group, has taken on the role of covering Northumberland and surrounding areas for Cefetra. Meanwhile, Hannah McLoughlin, a recent agriculture graduate from Harper Adams University, has joined the team in Stamford, Lincolnshire, as a trainee buyer.

Both Jenny and Hannah will play pivotal roles in managing customer relations while spearheading efforts to onboard new clients. Their responsibilities include negotiating contracts for farm grain and oilseed purchases, as well as coordinating agreements for fertilisers, seeds, and specialist crops.

Jenny, drawing from her previous experience and two years of farm work in New Zealand, expresses enthusiasm for the opportunity to expand Cefetra’s customer base. She emphasises Cefetra’s top-tier grain storage facilities and strong reputation, factors crucial for farmers amidst current market conditions. With her background in farming alongside her husband, Jenny brings valuable insights into the challenges farmers face.

Hannah, despite not hailing from a farming background, is passionate about the industry and views her role at Cefetra as a means to pursue her ambitions. Her academic background and prior work experience in a grain storage facility equip her to build strong relationships with farmers and contribute to Cefetra’s growth.

Simon Wilcox, Manager of UK Farm Grain Origination, expresses excitement about the new additions to the team, highlighting their importance in achieving Cefetra’s expansion goals.
