John Foad & Co Joins Cefetra Ltd

Cefetra is delighted to announce that John Foad and Co has joined Cefetra’s growing business.

We are delighted to announce the further expansion of our grain procurement business in Kent following the exciting news that John Foad & Co is to become part of our growing business, as Cefetra progress towards new horizons and embark on the next stage of our journey.

The acquisition is a perfect fit, both of us sharing the same values and company culture. This now means that we can offer an even greater focus on working with growers and consumers to provide a smooth and efficient supply chain, whilst ensuring that we continuously deliver the best products and offer value.

Joining the Cefetra Grain Kent team is Stephen Carter, formerly Managing Director of John Foad & Co, who will work alongside Charles Roberts, Tim Porter and Rob Bugden. The new team has a wealth of experience and knowledge between them, including long-standing and strong business relationships with farmers across Kent and the surrounding counties.

Andrew Mackay Cefetra’s Managing Director, stated: “We are extremely happy that John Foad & Co has become a vital part and extension of our business. Stephen’s experience will give us even greater confidence to grow across the Kent region, and this enhanced team will no doubt further boost our existing supplier and customer relationships.” 

We have already built a strong network across the UK, Ireland and Europe allowing us to match supply and demand for commodities to the benefit of both the producer and the consumer. This approach has enabled us to grow to five million tonnes per year in the UK and Ireland and for the Group (BayWa) to handle over 35 million tonnes per year across Europe – this growth we expect to now be accelerated.

With our administration, logistics teams and the solid financial position we intend to provide Stephen with all the tools he needs to maintain the long-standing trading relationship and service levels he has built with his customers and we will support him in every means that we can.

We do not doubt that this joint partnership will play a significant role in driving Cefetra forward and we look forward to working with John Foad & Co.
