Technical Sales Manager

With 700,000 tonnes of storage capacity supported by state-of-the-art processing technology, the business dispatches between 85,000 – 90,000 tonnes of raw materials to industry partners every week and delivers up to 600 lorry loads per day. Its products are used for animal feed and throughout the food and drink sector, supplying product to some of the largest food producers in sectors such as dairy, beef, lamb, poultry, pork, salmon, beer, bread, biscuits, breakfast cereals and pet food.

About the role:
This is an exciting role to work in a growing and successful team as the Regional Technical Expert in the South of the UK, reporting to the European Business Head for Cefetra Ltd.
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE
- Increase and improve relationships and trading opportunities within the geographical territory.
- Develop and expand knowledge with internal and external customers to expand range and customer commitment and drive brand loyalty.
- Support and drive both mainstream and innovative crop input solutions with technical/consultative solutions on farm.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The position will be across Cefetra and Premium Crops products
- The role will deliver the business strategy within regional geography and will work directly with the Inputs team and associated collaborations, for events, marketing and trials activity support.
- Working with the regional Farm Business Managers to qualify opportunities requiring technical support and assisting them meeting regional sales and trading targets.
- Delivering and creating training and knowledge transfer to upskill internal team.
- Provide technical support for launch of new varieties, campaigns and seasonal activity internally and support marketing of such externally.
- Deliver on farm agronomy support to farmer/growers, where required and as part of customer strategy, in person or virtually.
- Provide and manage agronomy support in ‘key accounts’ in the geographical area.
- Identify regional and seasonal opportunities and communicate to business stakeholders.
- Support/participate and represent Cefetra internally and externally in national and regional schemes and initiatives in support of arable farming. To include regenerative, environmental and stewardship.
- Participate in strategic planning meetings with business stakeholders to identify technical opportunities.
- Supply technical support and content for marketing initiatives.
- Lead technical support in regional and national customer facing events and shows.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Demonstrates a high degree of commercial awareness.
- High levels of verbal and numerical reasoning ability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with impact at all levels
- Attention to detail even when working to challenging deadlines.
- Good IT skills including Intermediate Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, including prioritizing workloads, meeting deadlines and managing a varied workload in a busy environment.
- The ability to develop effective and supportive relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Confident in presenting/public speaking.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent Agricultural and Industry Knowledge
- Preferred if FACTS and BASIS qualified but training can be provided
- Previous Agronomy/Crop Walking experience preferred but not essential

- Hours: 40 per week
- Location: Hybrid/Home based/Travel
